A stone I once kicked along And you said it’s broken bones of his He won’t let me down No He won’t let me down And time hasn’t seem to fade The glow of embers that you saved From this forgotten grave He won’t let me down No He won’t let me down He won’t let me down A stone I once kicked along She said it’s broken bones of his And as though I held back the tears That fell through the shadowed fears Over the battled years of loss I ask for the sake of life let the daughter run rife Our mother has endured far too much All those f@#*d up tests that you’ve procured and such oooooooo I ask for the sake of forgotten blaze The forgotten embers I ask for the sake of forgotten blaze The forgotten embers

Zumaia 03:41
Deep off the coast Where I first found my taste of withered boards Flakey laws and hidden oars It’s you, It’s you For you, It’s you Silver and Gold Ruby red and sapphire blue The flavour won’t leave My lips as I devour you It’s you, it’s you For you, it’s you Zumaia X 4 It’s you, it’s you For you, it’s you

Gold 05:07
Go now Leave this town, And take all you know Cobbled streets Crowds beneath the feet of this old town And all Is Gold, Its Gold Taking time Making this life mine Moving slowly on Slicing through Milky water to, Shore to shore we find That all Is Gold Its Gold So I break free Of this fear around me and I take my chances now So come and join me in Paradise, in the sweet harmony X 2 Go now leave this town And take all you know Take your lead, take your crown And leave it all behind. And All is Gold Its Gold X 4

Slow Down 04:20
I once knew this girl That brought so much love and life into this world when I met her out at night in the lights, standing high above it all I could see deep in her mind she was fighting Slow down your mind Slow down your mind Slow down your mind Slow down your mind Cause what started out a rare thing Soon turned to an oft happening And I tried to deter all her cravings I could see it in your eyes See them running wild As she tried to disguise the signs Slow down your mind Slow down your mind Slow down your mind Slow down your mind But coke, yeah coke was the one that took you down and put you deep in the ground But coke, coke was the one that held its grip and held on to strong But coke, coke was the one that took you down and put you deep in the ground oooooh.

Fire 04:58
I’m sorry mother, I didn’t mean for this to be I even said to him the light could be set free That these sparkles of warmth and joy could be catastrophe I’m sorry father, if only I could have known That all that was said and done in fun is gone That the call from the fireman said the light has shone I’m sorry sorry sorry, but it wasn’t my fault May have been the words that left my mouth in revolt It may have been a jinx of fate a lesson to be taught Fire, Fire, Fire Fire in the air Fire, Fire, Fire Fire everywhere

about

Wild Plum is a creation Karuah recorded in the back room of an old church. He found peace and quiet there to dwell upon experiences he had traveling. These songs together are an artwork forming a soundtrack to these stories.
Written, produced and performed by Karuah, these tracks have a soaring beauty within the self created genre of 'Ethereal Folk'. Karuah combines dark complex riffs with floating, dreamy vocals that extend high into his falsetto range drawing the listener into the realm he creates.

about

Karuah Byron Bay, Australia

Byron based singer-songwriter Karuah has never been short of stories to tell. Three years of travel and fifteen years honing his craft laid a solid foundation for his upcoming release, Insight.

With the help of adept producer Jo Loewenthal (TORA) and the grounding force of the tranquil northern rivers, he’s been able to tap into what has become his signature ‘ethereal folk’ sound.
